Yeah I wouldn't say LDS is better, it just has two basic differences that make it more 'liveable' if you will.
1: less strict views on shunning
2: allowances to participate more in "the world" via commerce, entertainment, politics etc. which if done right can provide better options, quality of life etc.

by SydBarrett inwhen i look at "latest" on my phone (iphone safari) browser, i don't see things in the same order as when i visit on my laptop.
even if i swipe down to refresh phone browser it still doesnt match up.
i'm just curious what's going on from a technical standpoint.

Under Latest, you'll see "Started" and "Updated" tabs. The former shows the true reverse order of topics. The latter shows the last topic that was commented on.

This contrasts greatly with what you see from most JWs, who very much convey the impression of people who are just going through the motions.
It's easier to have energy for something when it's a temporary "mission". JWs have to do it every week until they die, therefore the pioneer walk.

Quebec court: film classification rules unconstitutionally restrict rights of Jehovah's Witnesses
by Corney inon 30 may, a judge of the court of quebec ruled on a case of watch tower's non-compliance with film classification rules.
the society was prosecuted for showing the story of josiah movie during the 2019 summer convention in quebec city, without it first being examined by the age rating authority, an offence punishable by fine of up to ca$2800 for the first time and up to ca$14,000 subsequently.
the offence was indeed committed, the court found, but the law in question violates religious freedom, freedom of expression and parental freedom of jehovah's witnesses and therefore doesn't apply to the defendant.

I think the truth is somewhere in the middle. As a Christian, fellowship with other Christians is an inseparable part of the package. BUT the part to lose is loyalty to a DENOMINATION, which ultimately equates to following men, puts a roadblock between the individual and Christ, and violates the specific scripture that says 'sects' are part of the earthly things to avoid.

A luncheon with ultra PIMI, elderly relatives
by joe134cd ini had a luncheon yesterday with and aunt and cousin.
the only reason i went, and endured it, was because my father who can’t drive wanted to see them.
as i sat there eating the lunch at the restaurant, i couldn’t help think how totally oblivious they are to what’s going on, in an ever expanding organisation of the happiest people on earth.
